Hi! I’m Step Pażernov.
(aka Stephanie Meyers)

I’m a composer, vocalist, and piano-attacker based in Los Angeles, CA.

More accurately: I’m a musical storyteller. A trauma-dumping, self-effacing, chaos gremlin with a penchant for deeply theatrical dark cabaret, mid century jazz, and Soviet era symphonic works.

“Pażernov” is a reclamation of my ancestral surname, intended to honor my roots, queerness, & inexplicable obsession with early 20th century Eastern European neoclassical music.

And that’s why my EP “entropy” came to life…

So what is “Entropy” really about?

This album is about my experiences with surgery, etc.

Focus here should be about the meaning of the specific album. We already talked about your career above, this one is for the CD itself. Why it means something.

leaning into the emotional appeal in 3 short paragraphs. know that people will skim this area. more important to be about this long when you’re done.

Who is Step Pazernov?

This is your personal bio. Really lean into the emotional appeal of your story and less about “graduated with an MFA from this university”. What’s your angle and why do you make the type of art you do? Why is your story unique and how did that lead you to this place? You can also mention Jean Paul here.

“okay, but why are you doing this?”

We mail CDs because it helps create a personal relationship with our fans. You get some new music and a free piece of art; and we get an opportunity for a new fan.

In a world of fake streaming numbers, fake followers, fake AI slop… We’re real humans making physical media for our real human fansto enjoy.

So, if you’re still reading….what are you waiting for?

– Step Pazernov

Entropy is a … “Dark Cabaret album” inspired by my love of early 2000’s Lilith fair era songwriters like Tori Amos, Fiona Apple. I needed to make this album because of something inside me. high level. Elevator pitch territory.

Next mention a more logistical piece. I wrote and produced this album with my friends in this place, but then we did the rest here. A bit of lore.

This CD is the perfect entry point to discover my music.
